VINTAGE ROSE 2025

Voted England's best Rosé in 2025, by Wine GB

Cobham House rosé is crafted from 100% Gamay, an exceptionally rare grape in England, traditionally found on the sun-drenched hills of Beaujolais, Southern France.

Born from what started as an experiment, we found that Gamay thrived in our unique terroir, but Kent’s cooler climate and longer growing season produced crisp, higher acidity grapes.

When our winemaker Emma Rice first arrived on site, she said the grapes spoke to her and asked to be crafted into England's best rosé wine.

PRODUCT DETAILS

GRAPES:
100% Gamay. Single Vineyard.
Cobham House, North Kent Downs.

WINE MAKING:
20% fermented and aged in fortified ruby port barrels.
80% aged in stainless steel, without malolactic fermentation.

TASTING NOTES:
Bursting with ripe red fruits of strawberry and raspberry, complemented by a subtle creaminess from the barrel-aged element of the wine. The signature, crisp acidity means it pairs beautifully with rich seafood dishes, soft creamy cheeses or even an Eton mess for dessert.

WHAT THE CRITICS SAY

“Crafted by winemaking royalty Emma Rice from 100% Gamay, this glorious discovery is one of the most arresting and daring rosés of the year.”

Matthew Jukes, Wine Writer

“This is a delicious, inventive, unique, and involving wine. I think it would floor curious sommeliers and give chefs a new flavour to think about too.”

Vineyard Magazine

“In a country where Gamay is rarely planted and never seen as a still rosé, this debut is both a technical triumph and a statement of quality.”

Melania Battiston, Wine Judge & Director at Cornus

“A wine born from single-minded hard work, creativity, and vision. Cobham House has not followed the herd with a Provençal-style rosé but crafted a wine that truly tastes of England."
